Sim writes...what exactly?
Hey fam!
Just in case we have any new family members, I just wanted to have a quick intro/memory lane moment with everyone.

In the beginning
My first official introduction to writing was around 2004/2005 maybe. My longtime mentor was writing plays for our church and I wanted to try it out. I used an old script of hers to create a format and used a basic editing program to write " The Truth Is." Honestly, I was super nervous. A teen with no formal script writing experience. All I had was a story I was passionate about and great support. Still can't believe that it ended up being one of our Christmas productions!
From there, I continued creating or developing other church productions like "Journeys of the Young & Single."
My biggest undertaking was going to be another play, turned web series, turned collecting dust project, " Confessions of an Everyday Christian." I loved working on that script. The hope was to perform in a theater venue, but getting producers to back your work is no easy feat. Then, with hubby's help, I made the pivot to a web series. We recorded enough footage for at least 2-3 episodes, but all the footage was lost. While it's collecting dust now, you never know-
Then, 2020 came....
Not knowing how crazy things would become (Covid, etc.), I went into blogging, creating Sim Renée Writes. I developed a "conversational" style to my writing (also shout out to Our Daily Bread (some of the writers had a similar style) and shared my thoughts and feelings on various topics.
In 2024, I wrote my 1st Devotional, "Love, Loss, and the Reality of Christ." This was a labor of love. I started working on this book in a writing camp. Over time, I had it reviewed by an editor, family, friends, and an awesome group for creatives #GodandGigs360 #availablenowonAmazon.
Now what?
That's a great question.
I have had a few ideas for another devotional or two. I'm hoping I can flesh them out this year for a 2027/2028 release (God willing).
I'm not sure when I will return to script writing but you never know...
As you can see, I'm back on the blogging tip. Thinking about starting a subscription for exclsuive blogs and content.
